OBJECTIVE
The objective of the Vulnerability Assessment is to validate the minimum level of security that should be applied to the systems in scope. The Vulnerability Assessment by definition, opposed to a Penetration Test, does not include exploitation of the identified vulnerabilities (in order to replicate a real attack), it does not consider vulnerabilities’ chaining neither the overall security management processes and procedures that support the systems in scope.
