Digital Universe Report H1 2023
Threat Intelligence by Obrela
The Obrela Digital Universe Report examines the security landscape for the entire corporate ecosystem, covering industry-specific attacks as well as threat-specific attacks.
In an era defined by unprecedented technological advancement, the interconnected landscape of cyberspace continues to both empower and challenge businesses
around the globe. As we stride further into 2023, organizations find themselves entwined in a digital realm that offers unparalleled opportunities for growth, innovation, and efficiency. However, this technological progress is mirrored by a corresponding escalation in the sophistication and diversity of cybersecurity threats.
The current report presents the emerging cybersecurity threats around the globe. Partners and customers can access it to gain useful insights on the contemporary security landscape.
During the first half of 2023, the “funnel” view of real-time visibility data for devices and endpoints in scope, produced the following observations:
- 4.7PBs of log size were collected and then ingested in order to become useful information, from approximately 104K devices/endpoints.
- Out of the previously ingested logs, the correlated ones resulted in 9.8K cyber attack- incidents detected.
- The average response time per incident was 11 minutes.
Obrela witnessed a substantial increase in both log volume and cyber attacks detected, when compared to the same period in 2022. For example, 32% of the attacks affected the banking and finance industry, 25% the shipping, whilst the top alert for the same period was “Suspicious Internal Activity”.
