Through their network of Threat Intelligence and Advisory partners, Obrela have been made aware of an elevated sabotage risk regarding critical infrastructure, defense, and advanced technology companies, particularly those based in countries with support shown towards Ukraine’s current war efforts, in the UK and Europe.
These advisories are based on guidance from several Western governments that have been tracking and responding to actions taken by actors with vested interests in the Russo-Ukraine War, whether at the direction of Russian Intelligence services or otherwise and hold a high degree of confidence that any further sabotage campaigns will likely be accompanied by informational and cyber campaigns as well.
Current considerations given include:
- Organizations likely to be targeted should put in place heightened vigilance and awareness regimes, for physical, informational and cyber threats.
- Organizations that are involved in the manufacture of materiel or other defense-relevant products should consider themselves at high risk of targeting.
- Organizations with links to manufacture for or aid support to Ukraine should consider themselves particularly at risk.
- Senior executives within at-risk organizations should consider their personal physical and cyber security.
Obrela remains vigilant and will notify on any updates and recommendations on the matter.
